The first thing we see is entering the apartment, corridor. In it we change shoes, take off outerwear and store some things. A small corridor creates a problem of tightness and lack of functionality.
The smaller the hallway, the more thoughtful it should be. When decorating the walls, light colors with bright splashes are used. The corridor is perfectly divided into zones, walls of different colors are used for this, ceilings are at different levels.
One of the zones is in front of the front door, where street shoes are left. Here it is good to put a shoe slide of light or cheerful colors, the floor should be easy to wash, and a small rug near the door. Easy to use tiles on the floor. Laminate or parquet, carpet, or tiles of a different color are laid in the remaining hallway area.
Use a themed wall design – wallpaper with a photo of a forest, a rock, a cliff, a garden, windows. Increase the sense of space of the mirror. Decorative niches are also used for decoration, inside of which shelves are suspended.
Colors
The long sides of the corridor are decorated in lighter colors, and the narrow ones in rich colors. It is interesting to play on the contrasts of colors, use them to distinguish between zones.
Furniture
In narrow hallways, the question arises – what furniture to choose. Avoid bulky cabinets. Doors are better to make sliding, rather than opening outward. For clothes, hang beautiful hooks or put clothes hangers. Attach umbrella holders, a key holder, small shelves for storing bills and newspapers to the wall.
In very long corridors, you can put an armchair, hang a lamp next to it and a small shelf for books.
Light
Play with backlight. Spotlights, wall sconces will expand the space and make the corridor more comfortable. Lamps choose warm and bright light, point one of them at the mirror. Attach a night light, use moving lights.
Make the doors to the room with transparent windows – this will increase the amount of natural light, and bright glass will add colors and mood.
You can hang shade-loving indoor flowers, but you still have to take care of additional lighting.
Yes, the design of a narrow corridor is not easy, but it is quite achievable.
