Before the beginning of the new year in Ukraine, the authorities plan to put into operation more square meters of housing, thus bringing the volume to 10 million m2. At the beginning of last month, Mykola Azarov, who holds the post of head of government, determined that over 5 million m2 of new housing was commissioned in Ukraine in 2011.
In addition, 3 weeks before January 2012, the Prime Minister of Ukraine believes that it is possible to almost double the intermediate indicators and put into operation about 10 million square meters. He announced this at one of the recent meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to N. Azarov, for the current year on Ukrainian soil, an almost record-breaking amount of living space for the country should be introduced. Now officials consider this result a significant success and achievement for Ukraine, but also report that it is too early to rejoice at this.
If we compare the current pace of housing construction with those indicators that were around the country 20 years ago, we can only say that in those years, construction was much busier and more extensive. However, in recent years, the authorities have nevertheless managed to improve the rate of commissioning of housing, including through the completion of buildings that are considered objects of construction in progress.
