Probably every third person dreams of building their own big cozy house. And what is needed for this, how to build it correctly, what materials to choose? Many questions arise for a novice builder. Let’s talk more about the roof.
Building a roof is no easy task. It’s not just for you to build a wooden structure and lay slate. The roof must also be insulated so as not to freeze in winter. If you are going to insulate an old roof that has served you for more than one year, then start by cleaning it from mold and dirt, check the strength of the ceiling, replace the beams if necessary.
For good insulation, you must first lay out a layer of material – insulation, then a layer of a special film, and then the roof.
Heaters are different. The best insulation is made from basalt fibers. It has great fire safety, long service life, it is light in weight and also environmentally friendly.
Styrofoam is also a great material. It is long-term in operation, protects the roof from the effects of all kinds of weather phenomena, maintains the temperature well, and does not let moisture through.
By the way, if you want a cozy house, then insulate the ceiling as well. Some are stingy and save on the ceiling, just upholstering it with drywall. Do not be lazy and spend money on ceiling insulation. To do this, you will need, for example, mineral wool, a special insulating film and drywall. Lay the cotton wool, then the film, and then sew everything up neatly with drywall. We fix drywall on aluminum profiles with special screws for metal, for this a set of heads for a screwdriver can be useful, because the screws are all different.
What materials to use as a heater is up to you to decide, it all depends on your financial capabilities and desires. Get acquainted with the characteristics of insulating materials in more detail, as someone needs durability and fire safety, someone needs to prevent rodents from starting, someone is cheaper.
